The Empire Hotel’s French Affair

15 07 2007

Congratulations to the Empire Hotel and Country Club for the recent Le Meurice Hotel food promotion. The theme was Phantom of the Opera and the food was specially prepared by Chef Yannick Alléno, Le Meurice’s renowned and widely acclaimed 3-star chef. If you have missed it.. well, you missed a great deal!

Food presentation was fabulous and I am told it tasted divine as well.

Also congratulations to the Empire Hotel for coming up with the novel ideal of inviting food bloggers to review the event. Tina, E, M and AB were there..This is a great idea…. and hopefully other hotel establishments will use the food bloggers on the opportunity to review their special events/promotions.

Royal Plaza on Scotts, Singapore

Congratulations to the management on the recent refurbishment of Royal Plaza on Scotts. They had done an excellent job in creating a new ambience to the hotel. I love the simple lines in the elegant accomodation which bring a more spacious outlook to the rooms. With 32 inches plasma TV, soothing rain shower, free internet and free minibar, this hotel is an excellent address for world and business travellers to make you feel at home.

The concept at Carousel dining place is excellent. It brings the flair of Paris into the heart of the hotel with Asian and Mediterranean food to whet your appetite. I love the vogue colour of Carousel and cullery brings simple dining into faboulous.

Heat Louge is a great place to hang out with friends after dinner, just chilling…

You can go to the hotel website and see the video of the hotel and browse through pictures of rooms and other amenities.

Definitely more than 5 for me. A strategic location for shopping and other conveniences

Empire Hotel and Country Club, Brunei Darussalam

I do enjoy visiting some of the fotoblogs. It’s interesting to see their perspectives on places, people and events. Taking shots of building is not my flavour as I prefer to take portraits and people in photographs. However, recently, I did an experiment in taking pictures of building. Here are my shots of the Empire Hotel and Country Club. Enjoy them!

Look like postcards to me! Last weekend, there was not much of an afternoon sun. Usually, at around 5.00 pm, you can see the wall of the Atrium Building going GOLDEN from the sun rays!!

I love the architectural design of the Pantai Restaurant. It gives me such a relaxing mood when u set into the restaurant or just walk around it!.

The three coconut trees are such an insignia for me. You can pretend to be in the Caribbean without leaving the country. Dreaming is free!! hehehe

Me and Daboys’ favourite haunt at the Empire has to be the Pool Deck . We can eat, drink, swim and sleep here if we want. Not only the food…. but the service of Imam and his team, made us feel at home. Recommended food to have include Nachos, Club Sandwich and Chicken Caesar Salad. Drinks?? Try the healthy smoothies.. Yumm!!

Oh ! This little fella couldn’t agree more with me..!!! As you can see, he patiently wait to be served in the pool!! Cute!!

Grand Hyatt Singapore

Grand Roomdscf0034.jpg

A favourite address of mine whenever I go to Singapore… the Grand Hyatt Hotel at the Scotts Road with its newly furbished Grand Rooms. Spacious minimalist designed concept that makes a weary traveler feel welcome and at home. With plasma TV and sun- flower shower head that makes you feel like having a shower in the rain.

Oh. don’t forget to have your meal at the Straits Kitchen ( Halal). Great choices of Asian cuisine.

Club Olasis is my venue if I want to exercise or try out the spa. If you have the energy in the evening, why don’t you pop into Brix, have a drink and listen or dance the night away to the band.

Definitely more than 5 for me.

More info on the hotel here.
